What Makes This A Must-Make Appetizer

If you’ve never had Prosciutto Wrapped Brie before, let me introduce you to what could be the best holiday appetizer (maybe even the best appetizer) you’ve ever tasted. The savory and salty prosciutto pairs perfectly with the creamy, butteriness of the brie. Add in some sugar-free preserves and you’ve got a sweet, salty, and delightfully low carb appetizer that’s sure to wow both you and your guests.

I decided to use sugar-free preserves to make this a low carb appetizer. As for which sugar-free preserves to use, that is entirely up to you. You can serve this with either fig preserves or raspberry preserves but you can use whatever you’d prefer.

What Is Prosciutto?

Prosciutto is a traditional Italian dry-cured ham that’s known for its silky texture and delicately salty, savory flavor.

Made from the hind leg of a pig, the meat is rubbed with salt and slowly aged, often for many months, to concentrate its flavor and create that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness.

It’s typically sliced paper-thin and served uncooked as prosciutto crudo, often paired with cheese, fruit, or wrapped around appetizers like brie.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 1 Small Double Brie Cheese Wheel - The creamy, rich centerpiece of the dish, becoming melty and luxurious once heated.
  • 4 ounces Prosciutto - Wraps the brie in a savory, salty crust that crisps up beautifully in the oven.
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar-Free Preserves - Adds a touch of sweetness and fruity contrast that complements both the brie’s creaminess and the prosciutto’s salty bite.

How To Make Prosciutto Wrapped Brie

  1. Lay four slices of prosciutto in a 5-inch pie pan.
  2. Put two slices going the other way.
  3. Cut the brie in half, spread 1 tablespoon of sugar-free preserves on the first half, then put the other half back on and spread preserves on top.
  4. Cover the brie with the six slices of prosciutto.
  5. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes, then broil for 2 to 3 minutes.

Tips And Tricks

Creating prosciutto-wrapped brie that’s beautifully crisp on the outside and irresistibly gooey inside is all about smart preparation and timing. Try these tips for perfect results every time:

  • Do not try this with bacon. You will have either raw bacon or overcooked brie. The two have very different cooking times, and I tried and failed twice before I decided to use prosciutto.
  • Use well-chilled brie . Cold cheese holds its shape better while wrapping and baking.
  • Overlap the prosciutto slices . Layer them tightly so the brie stays fully enclosed and the cheese doesn’t escape.
  • Fold neatly like a present . Keep the wrap snug and smooth to ensure even browning.

Variations

Prosciutto-wrapped brie is wonderfully versatile, making it easy to tailor flavors to any occasion. From elegant appetizers to cozy snacks. Try one of these delicious variations:

  • Fig & Walnut - Add a layer of fig jam and a sprinkle of chopped walnuts before wrapping for a sweet crunch.
  • Pesto Swirl - Spread a little basil pesto under the prosciutto for herbal brightness.
  • Berry Bliss - Use raspberry or cranberry sauce for a tangy, festive twist.
  • Maple & Pecans - Drizzle maple syrup and add toasted pecans for warm, nutty sweetness.

Mixed Berry Jam - 19

Sugar free Jam

  • Instead of using store-bought sugar-free preserves, you could make my Sugar-Free Jam instead! This is a great sugar-free jam recipe that you can use for any fruits you chose, including a great keto blackberry jam.
  • If you’re looking for a low carb cracker to enjoy this Prosciutto Wrapped Brie with, check out my Low Carb Crackers with Seeds . They make a fantastic cracker substitute for dips and spreads, and they taste great on their own as well.
  • This recipe also tastes great with my Keto Bread recipe . I promise you, it does NOT taste eggy like a lot of the other keto bread recipes out there.
  • Top with this Cranberry Chutney for an exciting twist.

How Long Does It Last?

Prosciutto-wrapped brie lasts 2–3 days in the refrigerator when stored tightly wrapped or in an airtight container to keep the prosciutto from drying out.

It’s best enjoyed the same day while the cheese is soft and melty, but leftovers can be gently reheated in the oven to revive the texture.

Can You Freeze It?

Freezing isn’t recommended, as both brie and prosciutto can lose their creamy and delicate qualities after thawing.

What Is A Breakfast Egg Roll?

If you’ve ever tried a traditional air fryer egg roll, you know how deliciously crispy they are.

Who says you can only enjoy that crispy flavor bomb for lunch or dinner?

These Breakfast Air Fryer Egg Rolls are a combination of your favorite breakfast ingredients rolled up in a perfectly crisp egg roll wrapper.

How To Roll Egg Rolls

If you’ve never made an eggroll at home before, it can seem quite intimidating just looking at one.

But if you’ve ever rolled a burrito, this will be a breeze for you. Keep your ingredients close, and your fingers lose. You shouldn’t have any trouble at all.

Here’s how to roll a perfect homemade eggroll:

  1. Take one egg roll wrapper and lay flat with one corner pointed toward your belly button.
  2. Place desired ingredients into the center of the egg roll wrapper in a straight line. It should be approximately 1 inch wide with a span the length of the egg roll wrapper diagonally, leaving 1/2 an inch without filling on each end.
  3. Fold in the two corners of the egg roll far enough that the fold touches the end of the filling.
  4. Next, start on the opposite side of the egg roll wrapper and fold over the two tucked-in corners and the egg roll filling.
  5. Continue to roll the eggroll tightly (but not too tight) until it is rolled into a cylinder.
  6. Use a basting brush or the tip of your finger to brush water on the edge of the eggroll to seal it.

How To Make Air Fryer Egg Rolls

  1. Prep Eggs, Bacon, and Hashbrowns beforehand on your stovetop. If you don’t want to use your stovetop, you can also prep them separately in your air fryer.
  2. Put a small amount of water in a bowl and set aside
  3. On a plate, take one egg roll wrapper and lay flat with one corner pointed toward your belly button.
  4. Place desired ingredients (egg, bacon, hashbrowns , and cheese for this version) into the center of the egg roll wrapper in a straight line. It should be approximately 1 inch wide with a span the length of the egg roll wrapper diagonally, leaving 1/2 an inch without filling on each end.
  5. Fold in the two corners of the egg roll far enough that the fold touches the end of the filling.
  6. Next, start on the opposite side of the egg roll wrapper and fold over the two tucked-in corners and the egg roll filling.
  7. Continue to roll the eggroll tightly (but not too tight) until it is rolled into a cylinder.
  8. Use a basting brush to brush water on the edge of the eggroll to seal it.
  9. Lightly spray the egg roll with oil
  10. Cook the egg rolls at 400F for 4-5 minutes, turning halfway through.
  11. Allow the eggrolls to cool for 5 minutes.
  12. Dip in your desired condiment and enjoy!

Tips And Tricks

  • Don’t forget the oil. Eggroll and wonton wrappers need a little extra oil to get that bubbly finish you’re used to. Don’t skip this step, or they won’t have the airy and crispy bite you’re used to.
  • Use your favorite ingredients. Vegetarian? Like sausage? Lactose Intolerant? No problem. Just fill these eggrolls with your breakfast favorites and cook as instructed.
  • Seal the seams. If the ends aren’t sealed, the fillings will spill out while cooking.
  • Dip and dip some more. As a sauce lover, everything I eat is just a vessel for a tasty dip.

How Long Do They Last?

Ideally, you would consume these air fryer egg rolls within 3-4 days of making them. The longer they sit in your refrigerator, the more moisture the eggroll wrappers absorb, and the less crispy they are when you reheat them.

If you’re not picky about texture, you can safely keep these breakfast eggrolls for up to a week in an air-tight container in your refrigerator.
