But the other day, Jen who has a wonderful “how to fail at cooking but also sometimes succeed blog” told me about a place near her house that did Butter Chicken Pizza—and I got way too excited about it.

The rich, velvety butter chicken sauce becomes the star. Its warm spices, gentle sweetness, and tomato-cream base soak into the crust, giving every bite a deeply flavorful, aromatic kick.

Tender chunks of marinated chicken add savory depth, while the melted cheese brings the familiar gooey pull you expect from pizza.

The combination is indulgent, slightly smoky, mildly spiced, and incredibly satisfying.

  • 2 Frozen Pre-Cooked Garlic Naans - These serve as the pizza crust. Garlic naan adds flavor, chewiness, and an authentic Indian twist, creating a perfect base that crisps beautifully while staying tender inside.
  • ½ cup Chopped Cooked Chicken from Butter Chicken Recipe - This provides tender, flavorful protein. Since it’s already marinated and cooked in rich spices, it brings savory depth and the signature butter chicken flavor to the pizza.
  • ¾ cup Sauce from Butter Chicken Recipe - The butter chicken sauce becomes the “pizza sauce,” offering a creamy, tomato-based, warmly spiced layer that infuses the crust with richness and moisture.

How To Make Butter Chicken Pizza

  1. Preheat your oven to 400F.
  2. While it heats, start assembling your pizzas.
  3. Mix the sriracha sauce into the butter chicken sauce.
  4. Lay the frozen naans on your cutting board. (I tried it with the brown side up and brown side down, it makes no difference.)
  5. Spread toppings in this order: Sauce, a little mozzarella, chicken, onions, peppers, feta, rest of the mozzarella, and finally, cilantro.
  6. Place the two naans on a baking pan or preheated pizza stone, and place into the oven.
  7. Set the timer for 10 minutes and allow them to cook. If you like, you can broil for 2-3 minutes for a crisper cheese finish. When the cheese has melted, they are ready to pull out and enjoy!

Tips And Tricks

I’m going to be honest, even with such a simple recipe, I had to make it twice because my first version was good but not excellent. The second time around I changed a few things.

  • I moved away from refrigerated pizza dough and used Trader Joe’s ready-made frozen naans. I tried both the plain and the garlic naan, and the garlic one was so much better.
  • I added a little Sriracha to the Butter Chicken sauce. Honestly, that made a huge difference. Previously it was good—but it wasn’t dynamite. This one was dynamite—at least according to Roger (and he’s my go-to taste tester).
  • I made it in my Instant Pot Gem the first time but switched to the oven for my second try. Both work well, the only difference is that in the oven you can broil the topping for the last few minutes, which you can’t in the GEM . Truthfully, they tasted equally good to me.
  • Want to make it a low carb pizza ? Use this almond flour pizza crust instead of naan.

Twosleevers Butter Chicken Pizza | Pizza With Leftover Butter Chicken

Ingredients

  • ▢ 2 frozen ( 2 frozen ) pre-cooked garlic naans , or use plain. I used Trader Joe’s naans.
  • ▢ ½ cup ( 56.5 g ) chopped cooked chicken from butter chicken recipe
  • ▢ ¾ cup ( 180 g ) sauce from butter chicken recipe
  • ▢ 1 teaspoon ( 1 teaspoon ) Sriracha Sauce
  • ▢ ½ cup ( 7 g ) Red Onion. chopped
  • ▢ ½ cup ( 74.5 g ) Sliced Sweet Peppers
  • ▢ ½ cup ( 75 g ) crumbled feta cheese
  • ▢ ½ cup ( 56 g ) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ▢ ¼ cup ( 4 g ) chopped cilantro

Instructions

Instructions for the Instant Pot Gem Multi-cooker:

  • Press BAKE, set the temperature to 400F, and allow your Gem to preheat.
  • Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit inside the Gem. You will use this as a sling to get the pizza in and out of the Gem. Set this paper aside for now.
  • While it heats, start assembling your pizzas.
  • Mix the sriracha sauce into the butter chicken sauce.
  • Lay the frozen naans on your cutting board. (I tried it with the brown side up and brown side down, it makes no difference.)
  • Spread toppings in this order: Sauce, a little mozzarella, chicken, onions, peppers, feta, rest of the mozzarella, and finally, cilantro.
  • Place the two naans on the parchment paper and place carefully into the hot Gem.
  • Set the timer for 15 minutes and allow them to cook. When the cheese has melted, they are ready to pull out and enjoy!

Instructions for the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 400F.

  • While it heats, start assembling your pizzas.

  • Mix the sriracha sauce into the butter chicken sauce.

  • Lay the frozen naans on your cutting board. (I tried it with the brown side up and brown side down, it makes no difference.)

  • Spread toppings in this order: Sauce, a little mozzarella, chicken, onions, peppers, feta, rest of the mozzarella, and finally, cilantro.

  • Place the two naans on a baking pan or preheated pizza stone, and place into the oven.

  • Set the timer for 10 minutes and allow them to cook. If you like, you can broil for 2-3 minutes for a crisper cheese finish. When the cheese has melted, they are ready to pull out and enjoy!

  • Please do not trust my calories on this! I don’t know how to calculate the macros for this given it uses leftovers from a previous recipe, and iI don’t know how thick/big your naan is.

  • Variations on this Butter Chicken Pizza recipe: While you can add other items to the toppings, be careful not to overload it with too many raw vegetables as they will need to cook and steam and will release excess water if you have too many

  • Paneer

  • Leftover rotisserie chicken

  • Raw, defrosted shrimp

  • Add Indian green chutney to the sauce for an even more savory finish

  • Garam masala to sauce to amp up flavor

  • Pickled or raw, thinly sliced jalapeños or serrano chilis

  • Sliced green onions
