This Keto Hot Chocolate with cinnamon is rich, decadent, and delicious with just the right amount of heat. Not to mention it’s low carb and gluten-free .

Why Is This Keto Hot Chocolate So Tasty?
- Fast. Make this low carb hot chocolate recipe in under 30 minutes .
- Easy. A simple pour and cook stovetop recipe .
- Keto . Only 5 net carbs per serving.
- Gluten-Free. A naturally gluten-free recipe .
- Delicious. Incredibly rich with just a hint of spice.
My favorite part about this Keto Hot Chocolate recipe is that it’s healthy, low-carb, and gluten-free. That’s right, a super-rich and decadent chocolate dessert is a keto-friendly, low carb treat that won’t kick you out of ketosis. It’s nice to be able to curb that sweet tooth with such a delicious recipe such as this one.
I know a lot of people that struggle with finding healthy and allergy-friendly desserts that don’t take forever to prepare. Not to mention, they usually require expensive and difficult to find ingredients that make it just feel not worth the effort. Keto Hot Chocolate is super easy to make and isn’t expensive either.
Can You Have Cocoa On A Keto Diet?
When it is cold outside and you’re craving something sweet, there’s nothing better than a hot cup of cocoa. Unfortunately, those little premade packages that you tear open and stir into warm milk aren’t the lowest in carbs (or all that delicious in my opinion).
That’s what compelled me to make a low-carb version. So yes, you can have cocoa on a keto diet, but not just any hot cocoa recipe.
Which Chocolate Is Best For Keto?
With the growing popularity in low carb eating, there has been a surge in the options you have for finding a delicious keto friendly chocolate. The two most important things to remember are:
- They need to be sugar free
- The darker the chocolate, the lower the carb count will be.
Here are a few of my favorite keto chocolate options that work well in this Keto Hot Chocolate Recipe :
- ChocZero 70% Dark Chocolate
- Lily’s Extra Dark Chocolate Bar
- My homemade Keto Chocolate Chip recipe
Why Does This Keto Hot Chocolate Look Different?
That’s because it’s sipping chocolate . I’m sure you’re thinking, “What in the world is sipping chocolate?!” Mexican Sipping Chocolate is gold. If you’re used to hot chocolate in the United States, this is not the same thing.
It’s the same idea, however, this is much richer and usually has a spice to it . It’s only meant for sipping as a creamy delight, not to guzzle down. Mexican Sipping Chocolate is thicker than hot chocolate and is more of a dessert than it is a drink–and of course, it’s Keto!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Unsweetened Almond Milk
- Heavy Cream
- Truvia
- unsweetened chocolate squares
- Ground Cinnamon

Keto Hot Chocolate Variations | Mix-In Options
There are so many ways to make Keto Hot Chocolate . I enjoy mine with cinnamon and cayenne. Everyone likes it differently, just like everyone has a specific way they drink their coffee. Here are a couple of other ways you can prepare your Keto Hot Chocolate .
- Peppermint Hot Chocolate: Omit Cinnamon, Cayenne and Vanilla extract. Add 1 teaspoon Peppermint extract.
- Chocolate Orange Cups: Omit Cinnamon, Cayenne and Vanilla extract. Add 1 teaspoon Orange extract.
How Long Does It Last?
Unlike traditional hot chocolate, you can double the recipe to save some for later.
To reheat, simply add a little extra almond milk and bring it to the desired temperature over low heat in a saucepan.

What Is Arroz Con Pollo?
Arroz Con Pollo is a traditional Mexican dish that is the epitome of comfort food. It is a delicious blend of chicken and rice with a hint of spice that is amazingly flavorful without being too harsh for sensitive tastebuds.
Will Arroz Con Pollo Work in the Instant Pot?
This Arroz Con Pollo recipe asks to use un-rinsed rice, based on my reading that unrinsed rice is less likely to stick in your Instant Pot.
It also reduces sautéing to a minimum, since if something is going to stick, it’s likely to be caused due to burning during this stage.
Is Arroz Con Pollo Spicy?
This recipe is technically Mexican cuisine but is mild enough that even kids would enjoy it.
The Instant Pot makes this recipe so easy. Minimal chopping, a few minutes on the saute setting, and then just 6 minutes of cooking at high pressure! Arroz Con Pollo will be a new meal in your weekly rotation!

How To Make Arroz Con Pollo?
This recipe is one of my favorites because of the magnitude of flavor and comfort you get from such simple steps. Here’s how you make Arroz Con Pollo :
- In a blender, blend together onions, tomato, garlic, cilantro, and jalapeño.
- Meanwhile, turn your Instant Pot to Sauté and when it’s hot, add in 1 tbs of oil. Add in the rice and sauté until the rice is translucent about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the chicken and the cumin, Goya Sazon, and salt, and cook for a minute or two to let the spices bloom.
- Pour in blended vegetables and the water, seal the Instant Pot, set to Manual HP for 6 minutes. Allow it to release pressure naturally for 10 minutes, and then release any remaining pressure.
Tips And Tricks
This recipe is so incredibly simple, it’s a tough one to mess up. Here are just a few tips to make sure it turns out perfectly every time:
- Don’t skip the sauté . This will make your spices and onions even more fragrant and keep your rice from getting mushy when you cook it under pressure.
- Scrape the brown bits. Use a spoon or silicone spatula to scrape any bits of food that may be stuck to the bottom of the Instant Pot liner to prevent a Burn Notice.
- Get creative. Make this Arroz Con Pollo a full meal by pairing it with some Instant Pot Refried Beans or some Tomatillo Salsa .
