Add some variety, sweetness (and some spice) to your dinner table this holiday season with these Cranberry Brussels Sprouts! These are brussels sprouts like you’ve never had them before .

Why These Cranberry Brussels Sprouts Are The Perfect Thanksgiving Side Dish
Get ready for one of the most flavorful, satisfying and simple side dishes you could possibly make this holiday season. These Cranberry Brussels Sprouts have got to be my most unique and delicious holiday recipe yet.
Not only is this dish super tasty, but it takes very little effort to whip up. It takes just over 20 minutes to make this recipe from start to finish, making it one of the fastest cooked holiday dishes out there, which is perfect since you’ll probably be busy out of your mind with other holiday chores and such.
This Cranberry Brussels Sprouts recipe is the perfect dish for those get-togethers where you’re unsure of what everyone else is going to bring. You know somebody is going to bring the staples like mash potatoes, green bean casserole, and stuffing. But it’s incredibly unlikely (dare I say impossible) that they’ll bring this dish to the table, and everybody is going to be thanking you that you did.
It truly is a wonderful breath of fresh air when it comes to holiday dishes, with its delightfully sweet tang, wonderful earthiness and just the right amount of heat. I decided to garnish the finished Cranberry Brussels Sprouts with some toasted walnuts, and it adds a great nuttiness and texture to the dish.
What is the texture of these Instant Pot Brussel Sprouts?
Okay, when I posted that I was steaming Brussel Sprouts, I got a lot of very strong reactions from my Twosleevers Facebook group !
Many people felt that the only civilized way to cook Brussel sprouts was to fry them to a crisp. Other Brussel sprouts lovers said they were perfect when steamed, as the steaming made them tender and like little cabbages.
So these are most certainly not fried-crisp. But if you like your Brussel sprouts with a little bite in them, you may want to reduce cook time to 2 minutes and release pressure immediately.
Can you really make Brussel Sprouts in the Instant pot?
Well, let me tell you ALL OF THE WAYS TO NOT make them in The instant Pot, as I have discovered them all during testing this recipe!
- Do use a steamer basket . Putting them in the pot with water was a total disaster
- Do use fresh Brussel Sprouts. This was way overcooked with frozen Brussel Sprouts
- Do not try to cook it with the sauce in the sprouts. Yup, I totally got a burn message trying to do that. By the way, if you’re curious why you get a Burn Message with your Instant Pot, you may want to watch this video.
How To Make Cranberry Brussels Sprouts
- Put 1.5 cups of water into the Instant Pot . Place a steamer rack in the pot. Place the brussels sprouts and cranberries in a steamer basket and place the basket on the rack. Alternatively, if your steamer basket has little legs to hold it off the bottom of the pan, omit the steamer rack.
- Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to cook on HIGH PRESSURE for 3 minutes. At the end of the cooking time, release all pressure immediately.
- Tip the brussels sprouts and cranberries into a bowl. Add in the melted butter, marmalade, salt, and cayenne and toss to mix. Serve hot.

Tips And Tricks For Making Cranberry Brussels Sprouts
- If you’re not a fan of the spice, you can opt to leave out the cayenne pepper. However, I really recommend using it, as it pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the cranberries and orange marmalade.
- The toasted walnuts are completely optional, but they add a wonderful crunch to the dish. Simply garnish the finished sprouts with the walnuts.
