Why This Is The Perfect Side Dish
- Fast. Ready in under 30 minutes with the help of your air fryer .
- Easy. A simple pour and cook recipe .
- Low Carb . Only net carbs per serving.
- Gluten Free . A bubbly cheese topping replaces a traditional cracker or breadcrumb topping.
- Vegetarian . A tasty vegetarian side dish that is flavorful and filling.
Ingredients You’ll Need
If you’re living a low carb lifestyle, you likely already have all of the ingredients in your kitchen. They’re all delightfully low carb and great for hitting your daily macros .
- 2 cups Broccoli Florets - Broccoli adds vibrant color, texture, and a hearty vegetable base to the casserole. Its slightly earthy flavor pairs perfectly with the creamy, cheesy sauce.
- 2 cups Cauliflower Florets - Cauliflower provides a mild, tender counterpart to the broccoli. It absorbs the creamy sauce beautifully and helps create a balanced vegetable medley.
- 1/4 cup Diced Onion - The onion adds savory depth and aromatic flavor, enhancing the overall richness of the casserole as it cooks.
- 2 oz Cream Cheese - Cream cheese creates the creamy, velvety base of the sauce. It melts into the vegetables, adding tang, body, and richness to the casserole.
- 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Cheddar cheese brings bold, cheesy flavor and helps bind the casserole together. It melts into the sauce and creates a deliciously gooey, golden topping.
- 1/4 cup Heavy Cream - Heavy cream thins the cream cheese slightly and contributes to a silky, rich sauce that coats the vegetables thoroughly.
- 1 tsp Salt - Salt enhances the natural flavors of the vegetables and balances the richness of the cheese and cream.
- 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper - Pepper adds gentle warmth and depth, rounding out the overall flavor of the casserole.
Do You Put Eggs In Broccoli Casserole?
Some people choose to put a scrambled egg in their Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole to thicken the consistency. I find that this makes it taste more like a frittata, which is equally tasty but feels more like a Vegetarian main course than a side dish.
How To Make Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole

- Serve and enjoy! Remove the Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole from the air fryer and serve.

Variations
- Make it meaty. Add a little precooked rotisserie chicken or cubed ham to increase the amount of protein per serving.
- Add more veggies. If you love veggies and want to add more flavor variety to this dish, you can include zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, or eggplant. These modifications will impact the nutritional facts per serving.
- Switch up the sauce. If you’re not a fan of sharp cheddar cheese, you can pour some of my keto alfredo sauce over the top of the cauliflower and broccoli and sprinkle parmesan to finish.
How Do You Make Broccoli Casserole With Ritz Crackers?
If you’re not concerned about carbs or gluten, you can always go the traditional route and top your Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole with Ritz crackers.
To make this modification, crush up a sleeve of Ritz crackers in a ziptop bag. Pour 2 tablespoons of melted butter into the bag and shake until the crackers are covered in butter. Sprinkle the crackers over the top of the broccoli and cauliflower and top with cheese. Cook according to the directions below.
What To Serve With It
This Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole is the perfect side dish for almost any meal. It can make even the most basic protein into a complete meal. Here are a few of my favorite things to serve with it:
- Air Fryer Chicken Thighs
- Keto Chicken Tenders
- Juicy Pork Chops
- Turkey Burgers
How Long Does It Last?
Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole makes wonderful leftovers. Since it pairs so well with so many dishes, saving half for another meal is never a bad idea. For the best texture and flavor, store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and enjoy them within 3-4 days.
Can You Freeze Broccoli Gratin?
Yes, you technically can freeze this broccoli side dish. Make sure you place it in a freezer-safe container to avoid freezer burn.
A few hours before you’re ready to eat your broccoli casserole, remove it from the freezer and place it in the refrigerator to begin defrosting. When it’s time to warm it up, place the thawed casserole back in the air fryer and cook at 350F for 3-4 minutes or until it is warmed through.

This Keto Cream Cheese Frosting is going to absolutely blow your mind! Enjoy a low carb frosting that’s so good, even your non-keto friends will love it!

Why You’re Going To Want To Put This Keto Cream Cheese Frosting On Nearly Everything
- Low Carb . Only 5 carbs per serving.
- Vegetarian . Who needs meat when you can have frosting?
- Fast . Ready to eat in 10 minutes.
- Easy. Just pour all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix.
- Delicious. Just like your favorite sugary frosting, but without all of the guilt.
If you live a keto or low carb lifestyle, quite possibly the hardest thing to give up is sugary sweets. And once you do give them up, you find yourself thinking about them more than you care to admit. But just because your eating low carb doesn’t mean that you have to give up on desserts altogether.
Keto sweets can be every bit as good as their sugary counterparts, and this Keto Cream Cheese Frosting is a perfect example of that.
I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE cream cheese frosting. I mean, I could literally eat it straight out of the tub with a spoon, but as you can guess, that would be absolutely terrible for one’s health (not that I wouldn’t be tempted to do that anyway).
And that’s exactly why I came up with the best Cream Cheese frosting recipe. It gives you all the luscious, creamy sweetness you’d expect from a decadent cream cheese frosting without all the sugar.
Not only is it low carb and delicious, but it’s very easy to make as well! It only takes 5 ingredients, most of which you probably already have on hand, and it takes almost no time to whip together. Simple, sweet and low carb. Who could possibly ask for more?

Is Cream Cheese OK For Keto?
Cream cheese is completely keto-friendly and is a common ingredient in a lot of keto recipes. Cream cheese is very low carb and high in fat, which makes it perfect for a keto diet. It’s also loaded with calcium and is a great source of protein, so you’re free to enjoy this Keto Cream Cheese Frosting without fear of it knocking you out of ketosis!
What Is A Keto Substitute For Powdered Sugar
This is an easy replacement. Instead of using traditional powdered sugar, use Powdered Swerve . It has all of the powdered sugar flavor and functionality without all of the carbs.
How To Make Low Carb Cream Cheese Frosting
- In a large bowl , beat softened butter, cream cheese, and cream with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally, until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in vanilla, then stir in powdered Swerve . Add more Swerve as needed until frosting is a thick, spreadable consistency.
NOTE: Make sure that you are using POWDERED Swerve and not the granular kind in this recipe for cream cheese frosting. Otherwise, the frosting will turn out really gritty.
