Ingredients To Grab Before Getting Started

As long as you have a decently stocked spice rack, the only thing you’ll need to worry about grabbing before cooking your air fryer turkey breast is a few turkey breasts and fresh lemon.

I don’t know about you, but a meal that easy seems too great to be true.

  • Thinly sliced turkey breasts
  • Paprika
  • Olive oil
  • Oregano
  • Garlic
  • Lemon juice

Can I Cook A Frozen Turkey Breast In My Air Fryer?

Yes, you can cook a frozen turkey breast in your air fryer, but you will need to defrost it before you get to cooking.

The length of time it will take to bring the internal temperature of your frozen turkey breast up to a safe temperature of 165F will significantly dry out the outer layer.

So, go ahead and grab that frozen turkey breast out of the freezer and enjoy it – just make sure you leave plenty of time for defrosting before you get to cooking.

How Long Do You Cook A Turkey Breast So It Doesn’t Dry Out?

As with any other poultry, you need to carefully monitor the internal temperature to ensure it doesn’t overcook and dry out. If you follow my standard cooking times and remove the turkey breast from the air fryer once it hits 165F, you should have a deliciously juicy turkey breast every time.

How Long Does A Turkey Breast Take To Cook?

I’ve found the perfect amount of time to air fry a turkey breast can vary depending on how thick it is. For an average-sized breast, you will want to air fry it between 40 and 45 minutes -flipping halfway through- to prevent it from drying out.

How To Make Air Fryer Turkey Breast

  1. Whisk the olive oil and spices together in a small mixing bowl
  2. With clean hands or a basting brush, liberally spread the oil and spice mixture over the entire turkey breast
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400F
  4. Place the turkey breast skin side down on your air fryer basket.
  5. Cook for 20-25 minutes and flip
  6. Air fry for an additional 20-25 minutes
  7. Check internal temperature and if it reaches 165F, remove the breasts from the air fryer basket
  8. Place the turkey breast in a foil “tent” for 10 minutes to rest
  9. Allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving

Tips And Tricks

  • Season it well. No one likes an unseasoned piece of meat. If it’s not seasoned well, all of the gravy in the world will not save your meal.
  • Add Fat. Don’t skimp on the oil or butter. This helps keep the turkey breast moist and makes the skin cripsy in the air fryer.
  • Keep it healthy. Skip the sugary injectables and replace it with my tasty spice blend.
  • Make small gatherings traditional. There are no rules saying that just because you’re cooking for a small family you can’t have your favorite holiday flavors. Make turkey breasts instead of a full turkey.

What To Serve With It

Do you find yourself constantly turning to chicken because of how well it can pair with almost any side dish? Try making these air fryer turkey breasts instead. Almost any of your beloved side dishes will pair flawlessly.

Here are a few of my favorites to serve with it:

  • Cheesy Potatoes
  • Air Fryer Corn On The Cob
  • Loaded Broccoli Salad
  • Cauliflower Mac and Cheese
  • Kasha With Cranberries

Add some variety, sweetness (and some spice) to your dinner table this holiday season with these Cranberry Brussels Sprouts! These are brussels sprouts like you’ve never had them before .

Cranberry Brussels Sprouts - 15

Why These Cranberry Brussels Sprouts Are The Perfect Thanksgiving Side Dish

Get ready for one of the most flavorful, satisfying and simple side dishes you could possibly make this holiday season. These Cranberry Brussels Sprouts have got to be my most unique and delicious holiday recipe yet.

Not only is this dish super tasty, but it takes very little effort to whip up. It takes just over 20 minutes to make this recipe from start to finish, making it one of the fastest cooked holiday dishes out there, which is perfect since you’ll probably be busy out of your mind with other holiday chores and such.

This Cranberry Brussels Sprouts recipe is the perfect dish for those get-togethers where you’re unsure of what everyone else is going to bring. You know somebody is going to bring the staples like mash potatoes, green bean casserole, and stuffing. But it’s incredibly unlikely (dare I say impossible) that they’ll bring this dish to the table, and everybody is going to be thanking you that you did.

It truly is a wonderful breath of fresh air when it comes to holiday dishes, with its delightfully sweet tang, wonderful earthiness and just the right amount of heat. I decided to garnish the finished Cranberry Brussels Sprouts with some toasted walnuts, and it adds a great nuttiness and texture to the dish.

What is the texture of these Instant Pot Brussel Sprouts?

Okay, when I posted that I was steaming Brussel Sprouts, I got a lot of very strong reactions from my Twosleevers Facebook group !

Many people felt that the only civilized way to cook Brussel sprouts was to fry them to a crisp. Other Brussel sprouts lovers said they were perfect when steamed, as the steaming made them tender and like little cabbages.

So these are most certainly not fried-crisp. But if you like your Brussel sprouts with a little bite in them, you may want to reduce cook time to 2 minutes and release pressure immediately.

Can you really make Brussel Sprouts in the Instant pot?

Well, let me tell you ALL OF THE WAYS TO NOT make them in The instant Pot, as I have discovered them all during testing this recipe!

  • Do use a steamer basket . Putting them in the pot with water was a total disaster
  • Do use fresh Brussel Sprouts. This was way overcooked with frozen Brussel Sprouts
  • Do not try to cook it with the sauce in the sprouts. Yup, I totally got a burn message trying to do that. By the way, if you’re curious why you get a Burn Message with your Instant Pot, you may want to watch this video.

How To Make Cranberry Brussels Sprouts

  1. Put 1.5 cups of water into the Instant Pot . Place a steamer rack in the pot. Place the brussels sprouts and cranberries in a steamer basket and place the basket on the rack. Alternatively, if your steamer basket has little legs to hold it off the bottom of the pan, omit the steamer rack.
  2. Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to cook on HIGH PRESSURE for 3 minutes. At the end of the cooking time, release all pressure immediately.
  3. Tip the brussels sprouts and cranberries into a bowl. Add in the melted butter, marmalade, salt, and cayenne and toss to mix. Serve hot.

Tips And Tricks For Making Cranberry Brussels Sprouts

  • If you’re not a fan of the spice, you can opt to leave out the cayenne pepper. However, I really recommend using it, as it pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the cranberries and orange marmalade.
  • The toasted walnuts are completely optional, but they add a wonderful crunch to the dish. Simply garnish the finished sprouts with the walnuts.
