For this air fryer onion ring recipe, I prefer to use Vidalia onions because they are sweeter than other varieties of onions.
The less intense, sweet flavor pairs extremely well with the salty batter for a completely comforting bite.
How Long Does It Take To Air Fry Onion Rings?
Forget waiting for the oven to preheat for a “quick” treat. Use your favorite kitchen gadget for air fryer onion rings that are ready in only 13 minutes!
How Do You Make Onion Rings From Scratch In An Air Fryer?
Follow these instructions to make this easy air fryer recipe :
- Slice onions into half-inch rings
- Gently remove any excess moisture from the onion slices by dabbing with a paper towel
- Whisk together eggs and heavy cream in a bowl
- Mix panko, flour, and spices in a separate bowl
- Dip the onion rings into the egg mixture
- Coat the rings in the panko mixture
- Repeat dipping the onions in the egg mixture
- Coat the onion rings in the panko mixture a second time
- Place the coated onions in the air fryer basket in a single layer
- Lightly spray them with nonstick cooking spray or olive oil from an oil sprayer
- Air Fry for 13 minutes at 400F or until crispy on the outside
Tips And Tricks
Dry Them Off. After you slice your onions, dab them with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture that may be released. This will help the batter stick for extra crispy onion rings.
Double Dip. Why dip the onion rings in batter once when you can dip them twice? For the perfect onion to batter ratio, dip the onion rings in the egg wash and batter and then into the egg wash and batter a second time.
Get Creative. Let’s be honest. It’s hard to mess up an onion ring. So use whatever you have in your pantry to make these work. Only have regular bread crumbs? They’ll work in place of panko. No breadcrumbs at all? Crush up some pork rinds. Down to the last day or two before you go grocery shopping again? Dredge them in flour and air fry.
Dip Away. Sometimes there’s nothing better than the perfect dipping sauce to make onion rings even better. So, get crazy and try a little bit of everything until you find your favorite.

Is It Brussel Sprouts or Brussels Sprouts?
The more popular way to say it is brussel, as it rolls off of the tongue a little easier.
However, that’s not the correct way to say or spell it. This tasty little veggie is technically called a Brussels Sprout.

The beauty of this low carb side dish is how easy it is to make how few ingredients you need to make a tasty addition to any meal.
Here’s what you’ll need for the perfect Keto accompaniment:
- An air fryer (obviously).

- Seasoning to taste
Do You Need To Soak Brussel Sprouts Before Cooking?
Do you HAVE to? Absolutely not. They’re just as tasty without trimming or soaking. However, if you want them to cook quickly, trimming the stems and letting them soak for 20-30 minutes before you roast them in your air fryer is great to speed up the process.
If you want the cooking times I’ve listed below to work, I would suggest soaking them before cooking.
Do You Have To Preheat An Air Fryer?
If you are familiar with Twosleevers recipes, you know that we’re a sucker for efficient cooking! Why preheat your air fryer when you can just toss in your dish and let it cook?
The cooking time for these Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts doesn’t include time to preheat your air fryer because – who has time for that?!
How To Make Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts
- Wash your Brussels Sprouts thoroughly
- Toss them in desired seasoning and little bit of oil or butter
- Place them in your air fryer basket or tray

What Do You Eat With Brussels Sprouts?
Maybe the more appropriate question is what CAN’T you eat with Brussels Sprouts? They’re so versatile and they fit with so many different lifestyles. You can make them low carb. You can enjoy them as a Vegetarian or Vegan dish. They’re great for gluten-free or dairy-free diets.
Here are a few of my favorite things that pair extremely well with Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts :
- Stuffed Chicken Breasts
- Keto Chicken Tenders
- Pan-Fried Pork Chops
- Air Fryer Montreal Burgers
- Sous Vide Steak
How Do You Make Brussel Sprouts Less Gassy?
The secret to keeping brussels sprouts from being stinky is to make sure you don’t overcook them.
The strong smell many people associate with cabbage and brussels sprouts is due to hydrogen sulfide. The good news is that you can only smell that rotten eggs smell if the sprouts have been overcooked.

How Long Do They Last?
For the best air fryer brussels sprouts, it’s best to eat them when they’re freshly made. With life being hectic, I know that’s not always an option.
If you can’t eat these straight out of the air fryer, it’s best to enjoy them within a day or two after roasting for the best taste and texture.
