- Measuring Cups
- Measuring Spoons
- Piping Bag
- Piping Tips
- Kitchen Shears
- Sauce Pan
- Air Fryer
Make Sure You Have These Ingredients On Hand
Using ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen, here’s what you need to make these air fryer churros:
- Unsalted Butter
- Granulated Sugar
- Salt
- All-Purpose Flour
- Vanilla
- Eggs
- Cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray or an oil sprayer with cooking oil of your choice
How To Make Air Fryer Churros
Making these churros in the air fryer is incredibly simple! Follow the instructions below for a super easy dessert you’ll want to make again and again.
How To Make Churro Batter
- Melt butter in the saucepan
- Mix in water, granulated sugar, and salt
- Once the butter, sugar, and salt are fully incorporated mix in flour and remove from heat
- Let the mixture rest for 5-10 minutes or until it is room temperature
- Add vanilla and eggs to the flour, butter, salt, and sugar mixture
- Mix with your hands until it is smooth
How To Pipe The Churros
- Carefully cut a hole in the tip of the piping bag just large enough for the piping tip to stick through, without being able to push the entire tip through the end.
- Use a silicone spatula to place the churro batter into the piping bag.
- Place parchment paper the same size as your air fryer basket on a baking sheet.
- Carefully pipe 3-4 inch churros onto the parchment paper.
- Let the piped churros chill in the refrigerator for 45 minutes to an hour (check out the trick for faster chilling below).
How To Air Fry The Churro Batter
Once your churro batter has chilled completely, this is how you will air fry your churros:
- Carefully lift and place the parchment paper with the batter inside your air fryer basket.
- Lightly spray the churros with oil
- Air Fry at 375F for 4-5 minutes
- Halfway through the cooking cycle, flip the churros over, spray the other side with cooking oil and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes
- When the air fryer churros are done cooking, spray them again with oil and toss in the cinnamon-sugar blend.
Tips And Tricks
- Let the batter cool. It will be extremely easy to want to cook these churros as soon as the batter is made, but the will be far too hard to maneuver if the batter doesn’t have time to chill.
- Use the fridge or freezer. If you’re not in a hurry, you can refrigerate the batter for 45 minutes to an hour for the perfect consistency. However, if you’re impatient (or just efficient) like me, you can also chill the churro batter in the freezer for about 15 minutes instead.
- Add more flavor. If you love your churros to be heavily seasoned with sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle a little bit of your cinnamon sugar blend on the piped churro batter before you air fry it.
- Turn it into a funnel cake. If you’re worried about your piping skills, don’t fret over making perfectly shaped churros. Using exaggerated figure-eight motions, create a funnel cake shape of churro batter on a piece of parchment paper. Just make sure it will fit into your air fryer basket.
Why Are My Churros Not Crispy?
As much as I wish it wasn’t the case, not all air fryers are created equal.
If your air fryer churros are still doughy on the inside after the cooking time is finished or if the outside shell of your churros seems overcooked, you may need to make slight adjustments to your time or temperature.
Let me walk you through it:
If Your Churros Are Doughy
If your churros are golden brown on the outside and still doughy on the inside, chances are they just need another minute or two in the air fryer. Leave the temperature the same and increase the time.
If The Outside Is Overcooked
If your air fryer churros seem to be overcooked and the inside is cooked through, the issue is likely the temperature of your air fryer. Decrease the temperature by 10F-15F and keep the cooking time the same.
How Long Do They Last?
Unfortunately, this churro recipe is not a make-ahead snack or dessert. While they still have an amazing cinnamon sugar flavor, the best part of making churros at home is the warm center with the crispy shell.
The longer they are allowed to cool, the less crispy the exterior will become and the less decadent they taste.
What To Serve With These Easy Churros
These air fryer churros are amazingly delicious without any additional help, but sometimes you just have to take your dessert to the next level.
Here are some amazing options for churro dipping:
- Chocolate Sauce
- Nutella
- Raspberry Preserves
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Caramel Sauce

Avocado Lime Popsicles
I know, the thought of putting avocados into a dessert may seem a little strange, but I assure you these popsicles are positively delicious and refreshing.
As a matter of fact, avocados are used quite often for the preparation of desserts such as milk shakes in many eastern countries.
If you’re still reluctant to try these avocado popsicles , let me reassure you that these do NOT taste like you’re biting into an avocado. Once you add the lime juice and coconut milk, they taste just as delicious as any other Keto pops you’ve made in the past.
This is sure to be the best avocado dessert you’ll have this summer. These healthy vegan popsicles are the perfect way to cool off.
But Why Avocado Popsicles?
Avocados have a fantastically high fat content, which makes them perfect for keto recipes . Their fat content makes them a great ingredient for making fat bombs, and what better way to consume a fat bomb than in these delicious Mexican popsicles ?
As a matter of fact, I often eat a half avocado with salt and pepper at night for a fat bomb. So if you’re not a fan of straight avocados, these popsicles are a fantastic way to still get that fat content without an overwhelmingly avocado-y flavor.
Let me reassure you that this does not taste like a frozen avocado! The sweetener and lime really help to add tang and flavor to the popsicle. They’re actually so good that even your little ones are sure to enjoy them without a suspicion that they’re eating avocados.
How to Make These Avocado Lime Popsicles
- Place all ingredients into a blender and mix until well blended. You will have a rather thick mixture at this point.
- Pour into 6 popsicle molds and freeze for 4-6 hours
- Alternatively, churn in an ice cream mixer and serve when set.
Is Coconut Milk Keto?
It sure is. Coconut milk is high in fat, low in carbs and is great for adding a great creamy texture to any recipe.
Not only is it a delicious addition to your Mexican popsicles , but it also makes this Keto avocado icecream dairy-free .
No Popsicle Molds? No Problem
You can mix this keto avocado ice cream and save in a freezer-safe container and eat it just as you would your favorite tub of ice cream. No churning required.
Tips and Tricks for Making Avocado Lime Popsicles
- The high-fat content also makes smoothies, as well as these popsicles, extra creamy and smooth. This is why you don’t need eggs in these popsicles. They freeze hard and are not grainy at all!
- They’re not exactly low calorie, but are very filling, so you might want to freeze in small popsicle molds for kids.
- You must use the lime in this recipe to keep your avocado from turning a weird brown colors. You can substitute lemon instead if you prefer it, but some citrus juice is needed for sure.
- Use heavy cream or half and half in place of the coconut milk, and you can definitely use real sugar if you’re not low carbing.
- You can consider dipping the tops of these into a little melted chocolate for a little added treat. I suggest Lily’s All Natural Dark Chocolate Premium Baking Chips as they’re Stevia sweetened and vegan friendly.
- If you need a good, solid blender, check out Vitamix Blenders . They’re wonderful blenders and they’re what I use in my own kitchen.
- I love these popsicle molds , although they do make very large bars. They are very easy to get a neat and clean popsicle to pop out of them without any issues.
- You can also use these more traditional molds .
- If you want to make chocolate popos, simply follow all of the steps listed in the recipe. Just omit the lime juice and add unsweetened cocoa.
- Use any leftover avocado to make this refreshing Grapefruit Avocado Salad Recipe .
